Gillian Locke

Gilly joined CKFT in September 2009 as a partner in the litigation department.

Gilly qualified at a large city firm in 1992 and has specialised in insolvency litigation since qualification.

Gilly has in-depth experience of all the insolvency regimes; both personal and corporate. Her practice is mainly litigation but she also acts in non contentious insolvency cases. She advises individuals, creditors, partnerships and companies as well as insolvency practitioners. She also acts for directors subject to disqualification proceedings. Gilly has particular expertise in complex bankruptcy cases and in the field of asset recovery following both bankruptcy and liquidation. This includes advising on asset recovery worldwide and applying for freezing injunctions. Gilly has a number of reported cases in the field. Her wider litigation practice includes general litigation often pursuing general cases on behalf of IP’s. These include complex contract disputes, property litigation and professional negligence claims. Gilly’s non contentious practice includes advising and negotiating terms with banks, advising on company reconstructions and dealing with Asset Sales and purchases in Administration and Liquidation. Gilly has also acted as Supervising Solicitor appointed by the Court to supervise Search and Service Orders.

Gilly is a member of R3, The Insolvency Lawyers Association (ILA), Proceeds of Crime Lawyers Association (POCLA), and London Solicitors Litigation Association (LSLA).

Away from the office, Gilly enjoys drinking fine cider and spending time with her 3 young children. When time permits she also enjoys reading real life crime books, swimming, scuba diving and (formerly) high board diving.
