Property case studies

Case study one

Our lawyers advised clients Tottenham Hotspur Football Club on the recent acquisition of a new training ground site in Enfield. And it was anything but a walk in the park. Following the rejection of the first planning application we spearheaded the team which worked tirelessly to achieve a successful result on appeal. We have also been working with the club to acquire properties in the Tottenham area which will ultimately form the site for a new 60,000-seater stadium.

Case study two

In 2008 CKFT represented an international property fund client on its acquisition of 3 substantial City of London commercial buildings (2 freehold and 1 long leasehold) subject to 68 tenancies, which had to be vetted and approved by our property team within a deadline of days from our initial instructions. Our client was not happy with the terms proposed by its principal funder and so utilising our extensive banking contacts, we referred the client to another major funder for whom the firm acts. This funder was able to afford the client a £49m facility, enabling it to complete on the transaction in accordance with a tight contractual timetable.
